Details:
Where a workplace first aid risk assessment identifies a need to have qualified First Aiders on-site, this one-day qualification meets the requirements of the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981. It is ideal for low-risk environments such as offices and shops but your first aid assessment of needs will be the real indicator if this is suitable for you.
In practical terms, this course is perfect if you have a number of staff that need the training. As long as you have a suitable space, which we will confirm with you before the training takes place, we can train up to 12 members of staff at a time. This is a very cost effective option and causes the least disruption to staff members with travel etc. The trainer will bring all the necessary training equipment on the day.
Although ideally you would take this course in one day, it can be broken down into 2 separate days of 3 hours each so you don't lose your staff for whole days. There will be extra costs involved with this due to extra travel time etc but this can all be discussed before booking.
Other options for low numbers: If you have less than 4 delegates, it might be more cost effective for them to attend one of our open courses instead. Alternatively, you might like to share your training day with another business if that's appropriate, as long as the total number of delegates doesn't exceed 12. If you're sharing the training with another business, this is suitable as long as your businesses have similar risks (e.g. both offices).
This course is very hands on and interactive, with lots of discussions, practical sessions and activities to keep delegates engaged throughout the day. Delegates will need to have a level of fitness on the day of training that enables them to perform CPR on a manikin at floor level for at least 2 minutes.
